The GD-1 control box is used for operating your garbage disposal motor by way of a pneumatic air button located on the top of your kitchen counter.
Inside the GD-1 is an air activated air switch the turns the disposal motor on or off by way of compressed air coming from the air button.

Now, the kitchen industry uses this technology to operate their garbage disposals.
